It's the big one this weekend. The North London derby. This game has produced lots of excitement and goals in recent meetings, last seasons 5-2 scoreline not the least. Both teams have been in bad form but form goes out the window in these games. It's all about who turns out on the day and who wants it more. Both managers will want to bounce back from recent defeats, especially Arsene Wenger who has seen his team's performances turn into a nightmare.
Arsenal will be boosted by the return of 'keeper Wojciech Szczesny, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin. Gibbs and Rosicky are in training but are doubtful. If Gibbs makes just the bench, Vermaelen will have to continue at left-back. Saturday's early kick-off is an opportunity for this Arsenal team to banish it's demons and land three vital points. The gap to the top is already 11 points after 10 games. This is Arsene Wenger's worst league start at Arsenal. It was the same last season. It appears the team is regressing with each season despite some new arrivals.
I would expect an attacking team on Saturday as 3 points are absolutely necessary. It'll be interesting to see how Wenger sets up his team. The midfield practically picks itself - Arteta-Carzorla-Jack. Theo and Giroud are sure to start but the gaffer might opt for Ox on the left to match the threat of the speedy Lennon.
Szczesny
Sagna BFG Kos Verm
Arteta Jack
Santi
Theo Ox
Giroud
That's the team i hope will start on Saturday. It's necessary to take the game to them and not seat back and try to contain Bale and co. I hope Wenger doesn't make the error of starting Ramsey on the right. He can be sloppy and gives no attacking width to the team.
Prediction: 3-2 home win.
